The hotels and environmentalist- letting 'Azteca' go

Since many of the sea turtles lay their eggs on the beaches of the resorts, the hotels and resorts have contributed to the conservation of the sea turtles of Cabo by monitoring and protecting the nests and assisting with the release of the babies. Our resort, the Intercontinental Presidente was no exception and we were lucky enough to be there the evening they released the radio "collared" turtle

Azteca and radio unit- you will be able to follow her movements through the Sea of Cortez and the pacific Ocean here: Cabo Tortugas

Baby turtles

We each named ours: Mojo, Ashe, Mikey, Java, Cactus & Yoda's Cuz

This was a highlight of the trip- and a very special experience for not just Ben and Abby,
but for Bruce and I because of our affiliation with the Reptile Expo
and herpetological conservation worldwide= RIGHTEOUS, RIGHTEOUS!!!

Ben & Abby and unbelievably cute baby sea turtles... They released about 200 baby sea turtles.
