Dreams Resort: Puerta Adventuras/Riviera Maya Mexico- Spring Break 2010
|
SUNDAY Sunday we drove to Tulum, where ancient Mayans once lived. Nice location right on the shore. After walking in the 80+ degree heat. we cooled off at two cenotes. First was the Gran (aka Grand) Cenote. A beautiful half-dome cenote; the water was warmer and crystal clear. The photos were not edited in terms of colour- the amazing emeral and aquamarine and azure are real. The water is this amazing blue and crystal clear. It is like swimming in a tropical fish tank- mollies, tetras and catfish swim right up to you. The 'Carwash cenote looks like the local swimming hole at summer camp... Until you notice the ultramarine colour of the water- locals used to wash their cars here- hence the name. |
