Summer of 2010: Florida and the Western
Caribbean
Seaworld
|
Seaworld Seaworld was wonderful- we opted for a "behind the scenes" four-hour tour with a wonderful tour guide named Gillian. We got to pet and feed dolphins & rays, touch penguins, feed seals and sea lions, go to the front of the line on many rides and had front and center seats for the Shamu show. Things have changed as a result of the unfortunate incident with the trainer's death in February but the show was great and the kids enjoyed the hands-on opportunities. The first photos are of the pool at our hotel in South Carolina. Ben was kissed very firmly by a dolphin and it took some coaxing to convince him the dolphin wasn't trying to eat his face... The last photos were of a pop-up bubble very much like the prairie-dog exhibit at the Bronx Zoo- the kids were able to see the tank from the inside... way cool. |
