Summer of 2010: Ship Pictures

Ship photos- the usual antics on the ship pictures including some of our hotel room/pool the night before sailing... We had a great view of the port and we were able to see the Epic parked last on the row behind two Carnival cruise ships. The weather was amazing and the seas were smooth and calm- the call to change itineraries was a good one as St Martin was hit directly by Hurricane Earl the day we were supposed to be in port. Towel animals are very popular and our room steward was wonderfully creative with towels, hand towels and washcloths... The image with the towel 'monkey' shows how the top bed comes out of the ceiling (image six). Abby slept there since Ben nearly fell out of the lower bed...

On the ship we had three full sea days and were able to attend a lot of the shows and enjoyed some fine dining. Instead of the traditional two shows per night in a large theatre- the Epic had several small shows in smaller theatres- we saw the Cirque de Soliel's 'Dream' performance and dinner, Nickelodeon's Slime Time Live, The Blue Man Group, Legends of Rock, (impersonators of Madonna, Elvis &Tina Turner), breakfast with Dora and friends and several others... The kids enjoyed the Kids Crew Club and also spent a lot of time going down the water slides endlessly- even I went down a few times myself. We also got a "behind the scenes" tour of the ship- which was fascinating.

Both kids were selected to compete in the poolside 'Slime Time Live' and both had a great time- Ben was partially slimed and Abby had to squash a whipped cream pie on her face twice. We ran into an old friend named prince who was our waiter four and a half years ago on the NCL Dawn out of NY City. We saw him again three more times and it was so nice to see him. Ignore Ben's face, his NY strip steak was delicious!
