Norwegian Cruise Lines- the Pearl
Miami Roatan Belize Cozumel Ship Key West
We flew into Ft Lauderdale on Saturday leaving behind yet another blizzard in New York. We arrived in Ft Lauderdale in the evening and went to the hotel where the kids immediately jumped into the pool in balmy 80 degree weather.  We took a cab to Miami the next morning and boarded the ship- we have two adjoining ocean-view cabins which gives us plenty of room and I don't have nightmares about Ben falling over the balcony and two bathrooms- always handy.

Bruce's hip held up beautifully and considering he was only five week post-op from a total hip replacement; I was really impressed.  We also celebrated Bruce's birthday on board with decorations, flowers and singing in the dining room.  The kids spent most of their time time onboard in the Kid's Crew Club which they love and gave plenty of time for Bruce and I to spend together with romantic walks on deck, dancing, rock-wall climbing, lectures and attending the show every night.

The weather was varied with a mix of sun and clouds but very, very warm so the clouds protected us from the worst of the sun.  It rained only in Roatan and only briefly but an approaching storm prevented us from going to the private island in the Bahamas and we diverted to Key West.  We have never been there off of a cruise ship so it was fine for us.
