Ocho Rios,  Jamaica

Ocho Rios,  Jamaica was a short port.  I went on a wonderful ride with Hooves. It is a stable that is similar to our own stable (Making Stride for Kids) in that they rescue thoroughbreds from the track and use them for therapeutic riding as well as tours for visitors.  We toured the Seville Plantation and then crossed the main road and into the ocean where the horses cantered in the water- it was wonderful.  Apparently, they condition racehorses this way since it is excellent exercise but does not stress their legs.

NEW I added some Flash movies below of the ride in the ocean-thanks to Mongoose Memories and K. Hinds.  You'll need to click (or double click) the "play" arrow to start the movies. I am the second rider and wearing a pink hat.

After my ride , the family walked down to Island Village where all the trendy shops are located.  Abby got a stuffed animal parrot at the Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville store. We definitely want to return to Jamaica.

PS The colour was untouched in these photos- the water is actually that amazing shade of aqua.
